for some particular tasks in computing it is neccessary to know the extensions of file.
to get the file extensions, open the folder where file is kept.
goto tools -> folder options
under view tab ,scroll the pop up block down. unmark the " hide extensions for known file format ". apply the changes and get the extensions of files.
